             FISHING REPORTS

A hot Skykomish hen
A hot Skykomish hen
1/31/2011 Had a chance to float the upper sky today and it paid of with another hot fish. This was the second fish on my paddle tail pink worm fly(rabbit&marabou) and there is absolutely no hesitation they want to kill that worm, FUN!! Unfortunately the Skykomish river will be closed tomorrow from Big Eddy to the mouth, but the stretch from Big Eddy to the forks will stay open till Feb 15th. It looks to be a good start for the sky, to bad the state cant manage the fisheries. Time to head to Forks with the rest of the state!!
A hot Skykomish Steelhead
1st steel of 2011, a hot native buck
1/09/2011 Well its a new year and the hatchery steelhead are almost over but the natives are starting to show up!! Found this hot buck in the upper Sky today, finally heard that Bougle purr and boy was it sweat. The Skykomish has about two and a half feet of vis and dropping nicely, fishing will only improve as the month moves on.
12/23/2010 Just got back from a three day trip to the Bogachiel river and the fishing was great! The hatchery drift was loaded with fish, but ya had to work for em. Egg paterns under a indicator was the ticket with orange and pink both taking fish. It was all hatchery fish except one hot native hen that jumped four times before coming to the net.
12/14/2010  With the pineapple express gone the rivers will be fishing great, once they drop in a few more days. The best way to fish high water is to use a lighter tip(type3) and work those inside seams and  that fly into the shallows. I have caught Steelhead in shallow water as little as 12", the fly should have a good silhouette, either dark or bright.
11/19/2010-- The Skykomoish is droping nicely and fishing good. Winter hatchery fish are starting to show up and will get better with every bump in water till the new year! Fishing type 3 and 6 sink tips in the soft seams with medium sized flies will work best.
